Updates
12:03 am ET: Awwww, it’s over! Great interview! Yay! Thank you, Magic! David you rock! WOOT! <333333
12:02 am ET: I LOVE THESE DJ PEOPLE. SO NICE!
12:02 am ET: “Music and feelings and emotions are
contagious. Whenever you can do that, share what you are feeling,
whether they are in a bad or good mood, it’s cool.”
12:01 am ET: Lady DJ “You are so contagious. How can
people not smile looking at you. You are such a blessing.” DJ’s are
totally fangirling/boying David.
12:00 am ET: HAHHAHAH DJ impersonating David and David
is laughing. DJ, “Key to impersonating you is smiling.” David, “Good
impersonation. I think you need a little more *uuuhhh* in it. I have a
weird voice. But sometimes it’s like, whoa they really do sound like
me.”
11:58 pm ET: Celeb impersonation? “I’m so bad at
impersonations.” Do David Cook. “How do you do David Cook? I really
don’t sound good singing Cook songs.” *Singing Light On and is AMAZING*
“Oh that was sharp. That wasn’t a good impersonation. I’d rather hear
David Cook. Let’s get him in here.”
11:57 pm ET: “It’s really cool getting to know people.
That’s what great, getting to know people. I totally forgot about
(getting paid). You don’t get paid for everything. Sometimes it’s like
yeah, I have to do that. But this is fun. It’s like hanging out, but
with people watching and listening to you.”
11:55 pm ET: Any super power? “Hmmmm… oh. I’ve thought
about this before, but I can’t remember. Hmmm. I’m afraid of flying. I
don’t know about invisibility. I don’t know about time travel. I’ve
thought about reading people’s minds, but I don’t know if I want to.
Maybe if you got to choose, like if you had a question. But then that’d
be kind of creepy. It would be cool to control weather. Or breathe
underwater. Oh! Hold my breah, that would would be really cool to hold
my breath underwater. It would mean good lung capacity and that would
help me sing.”
11:54 pm ET: Famous people on Twitter or facebook? “I
talk to Jordin Sparks. She did so good (on AI). I love that song.
*sings* It’s really good, it’s called Battlefield. It’s on iTunes if
you want to get it. I talk to Shontelle. We became friends on a tour.
*sings* I talk to Brooke and Syesha. That’s Twitter anyway.”
11:53 pm ET: Cook? “I don’t see him too much. We both
keep pretty busy. I haven’t been using my phone out of the US, so I was
in Malaysia, Singapore, UK and now here. And that’s how I usually keep
in touch with AI folks and most of my friends. In the last month, I’ve
really gotten into Twitter. I spend too much time there.”
11:51 pm ET: Most fave song of the set? “I like
singing a lot of them, I guess. I always like singing “Angels” because
it’s one of my favorites. I like singing “Don’t Let Go” because I can
feel it. And one that is fun to sing is “Zero Gravity” and it hasn’t
been released, at least yet anyway. So that one is fun.”
11:50 pm ET: Craziest thing that happened on tour? “I
do that all the time (forget lyrics of the song). A lot of people
invent and come up with words on the spot, but I don’t know how to do
that. I just leave it blank. My brain doesn’t go that fast. I don’t
know that I don’t know the words until they go by.”
11:48 pm ET: Craziest thing a fan’s done? “I don’t
know. Well this one time I was leaving and was running to the car and
all of a sudden this lady grabs me and I didn’t even see her. She
wasn’t like a girl, she was like an older lady, she wasn’t a grandma.
She was like in her forties or something like that. I was running to
the car and she ran to me and grabbed me and started kissing my face.
And I was like ohhh no. And she wouldn’t let go. And she kept screaming
and stuff. I didn’t have a bodyguard then.” BB!!! <33
11:47 pm ET: Other guest appearances? “We don’t have
anything right now. Whenever an opportunity comes up, I’m always
willing to try something out. The Hannah Montana thing was never
something I planned on doing, but when I ended up doing it, I had a lot
of fun. And the same with iCarly. Both of the actors and kids on the
show were a lot of fun to be around and work with.”
11:46 pm ET: Concert? “Me first, then save Cook for
last.” Song together? “We haven’t planned anything?” Sing Cook songs?
“Light On is always on the radio, so that one gets in my head.” *Sings
Light On*
11:45 pm ET: DJ, “I want to bottle you and sell you to all these people because you make everyone so happy.” I AM DYING.
11:45 pm ET: Lady DJ, “You’re so cute, I just had to say it.”
11:44 pm ET: Rituals? “Not really. I do my vocal
exercises. *does lip exercises* It’s just really helpful. It’s like
stretching before running.”
11:33 pm ET: Overwhelmed on stage? Stage fright? “Once
you get up onstage, it kind of all goes away. I always feel nervous
before I get there, but not when I’m up there.”
11:43 pm ET: Awww, he doesn’t realize how HUGE the concert is. haha Oh, Davey. <3
11:41 pm ET: Collaboration on album? “Who would it be?
I’m not sure. There are a lot of people to be honest. I think it would
be cool to collaborate with Natasha Bedingfield. I just love her and
she’s had a big impact on me. She’s pop, but not bubblegummy, a mature
and depth to her songs. Her song “These Words” really inspirred me to
start writing. It was the first time I started writing on my own, er,
writing period. She’s had a big influence on me. So it would be cool to
work with her.”
11:40 pm ET: Get nervous when Simon commented? “Um,
yeah. It was pretty, it was always weird, always kind of freaky when
Simon was staring at you b/c you never know what he was going to say
because he always has the same expression. Everyone depends on what
Simon says b/c he has a big influence. But he’s still a cool guy. He is
a really cool guy. To be honest, it was really helpful. It really
pushes you. It really motivates you to work hard this week.”
11:40 pm ET: I love when he says “HI!” to the callers.
11:39 pm ET: Learn any Filipino words? He is speaking
what he knows, but I can’t spell them! He said “I love you.” He’s shy.
*Singing again*
11:38 pm ET: “The energy, the people here are just going to be so amazing. That really affects your performance on stage.”
11:38 pm ET: “It’s the unconscious part of my brain (that makes me sing), so when I’m thinking about it I don’t know.”
11:36 pm ET: Was singing “Too Much Food” by Jason Mraz
because he was so hungry. haha The lady DJ loves him. “I’m pretty weird
I guess. In school sometimes I would be singing and I wouldn’t realize
it and everyone would start laughing. They weren’t making fun of me,
they just thought it was funny that I would be singing in the middle of
class in a silent moment.”
11:35 pm ET: AWWWW. He’s talking to a 6-year-old.
“When’s your bday? Oh, that’s fun. That’s when David Cook’s album came
out. Nice to meet you, er, talk to you.”
11:34 pm ET: What makes you smile? “I don’t know. I
don’t know, I mean, people always called me Smiley Boy. It’s creepy
that you smile so much. I don’t know, I guess I’m just, there’s a lot
to be happy about I guess. Just trying to look on the bright side of
things and trying to see the positive things in life. Stay happy.”
11:34 pm ET: Fan question. So adorable! Little banter!
11:34 pm ET: He is so cute.
11:33 pm ET: “Haven’t really thought about musicals.
Until recently I felt it was impossible for me to get in front of a
camera and read lines, but after trying it out on iCarly on Hannah
Montana it was a lot of fun.”
11:32 pm ET: Saying he’s handsome and he goes “There’s not on here. Well, right here.” HHAHHA
11:31 pm ET: Dream career if not singer? “I don’t have
any other dream career, but music. Maybe in like writing or something.
Anyway of music really. It’s not the international fame that’s the part
of it, it’s the feeling music gives me. It’s the passion you feel for
the music.”
11:30 pm ET: Singing *Top of the woooorld*
11:30 pm ET: Singing again. *Yesterdaaay, yesterdaaay* I think Hilary Duff? I think I’m wrong.
11:28 pm ET: “The energy is like so, like, yeah,
through the roof. It’s amazing seeing all the fans here. I haven’t
really seen much like this in the States. In Utah and stuff, people get
excited because it’s hometown. But here there’s so much energy and to
see the excitement from all different ages and both guys and girls. And
it’s not just ‘Hi, David, I liked you on AI. It’s like *funny noise*”
When you put so much work in everyday and see people appreciate it, it
makes it so worth it.”
11:28 pm ET: SInging *I feel fine*
11:26 pm ET: Balance singing and school work? “It was
tough during AI because I was the only one doing school. It was tough,
but they made sure to fit in. But I’ve just been doing stuff online and
stuff on books. Just trying to wrap things up.” Favorite subject? “If
choir doesn’t count, it was a period in school. But I don’t know if it
counts. I really liked English. I was bad at writing papers, but I
loved it.”
Education? “Yeah, I think it’s really important. Music is what I wanted
to do, it’s what I’m doing all the time and it’s what I love. But you
never know how long it’s going to last. I’d love to make it my career
and make a living off it, but you don’t know how long it’s going to
last. SO you just have to be prepared for anything. I don’t know how
long this opportunity is going to last. I think it’s really important
to keep your education, a back-up plan.”
11:25 pm ET: The microphone attacked him. And the DJ’s love him.
11:25 pm ET: Breakfast? “Grapefruit. I ate way too
much this morning. I felt like I was going to pass out. I ate so much.
I eat a lot. More than I should have this morning. It’s like, I feel
like I’m going to *made funny sound* explode.”
11:24 pm ET: Awww, I hear him!
11:24 pm ET: This guy wanted David to feel his heart beating! HAHAHAH
11:23 pm ET: I HEARD DAVID SINGING IN THE BACKGROUND!!!!! AWW, BB!
