沒辦法,所以他們想盡辦法讓自己覺得愛大衛的只有小女孩罷了(這樣也不能掩蓋他們離開的時候其實已經變成了個衣櫥天使,請參考文章最後一段)。

So it was me and some parents and 400 or so shrieking young things whose hormones know a good thing when they infatuate upon one. Thus, a star is born: cuddly Archuleta, who’s not a bad singer, really. Sappy, earnest, melodically on target. A human teddy boy bear for girls who wanna squeeze, squeeze, squeeze the little bastard to death.
But will they remember him when they’re 16?
“Didn’t want to have to say it/All we’re doin’ is building walls/We’re building too many barriers,” he sang with as much emotion as any 18-year-old with 16-year-old boyishness has ever sang, from “Barriers.” It’s a tune about love in its last throes.
Like he’d know. He told Seventeen magazine he’s never kissed a girl.
Hmmm. Maybe he ought to sell his first smacker on eBay. There could be movie rights, too. Then a sequel. Hey, how about a prequel? Archuleta foreplay before the kiss could be the sharing of a milkshake date on Facebook or MySpace or some teen-fantasy chat room. This kid’s never gonna have to work another day in his life.
Honestly, I mean this when I say it: He was so charmingly unaffected, and so genuinely glad to be singing, that every time he grinned, you saw sheer pop innocence. And believe me, that was as refreshing as hell.
